Knowledge of Doomsday

Introduction:

The concept of Dooms day (Yaoum Al Qiyamah) exists in most of the religions and cultures but Islam is in the forefront to prepare human beings for the eventual day. It is the utmost desire of all God-fearing Muslims as not to face the advent of Dooms-day but continual piety (Taquwah) and abidance by the commands of Almighty Alloh certainly guarantees a safe passage from this world without facing that eventual day. -03

Let us know the difference between Yaoum Al Qiyamah (Dooms Day) and Yaoum Ad Deen (Resurrection Day). Yaoum Ad Deen is a day when whole humankind would be resurrected for their accountability while Yaoum Al Qiyamah is a day before the Resurrection day when whole earth would be destroyed to take a new shape and all the living beings would be made to devastatingly brutal death.

A doomsday (Yaoum Al Qiyamah) is an event of specific occurrence which has an exceptionally destructive effect on the human race. The final outcomes of doomsday events ranges from a major disruption of human civilization, to the extinction of human life, to the destruction of the planet Earth, to the annihilation of the current universe experienced by us.

The Qur’anic Knowledge:

The last Chapters of the Qur’an, which are mostly Meccan, are abounding in the images of Doomsday. In the Qur’an, Doomsday concretely presented through potent images that can be felt by the reader/listener. It makes human ponder and think, illustrates the close kinship between scientific findings and Qur’anic revelations regarding Doomsday and makes sense of an otherwise incomprehensible world where evil appears to abound and flourish. -01

"Verily the hour (Doomsday and Resurrection day) is coming – My design is to keep it hidden – for each soul must be paid for its works" - "Do not be diverted there from by those who do not believe in it - those who pursue their own opinions - lest you fall {The Qur’an – Surah at Toa Ha (Chapter: The Toa ha) 20:15 - 16}.

"They ask you about the Hour (doomsday and Resurrection day), and when it will take place! It is not you (O Muhammad PBUH) who is destined to announce its time. Your Lord decides its fate. Your mission is to warn those who expect it. The day they see it, they will feel as if they lasted one evening or half a day" {The Qur’an – Surah An Naziyat (Chapter: The Snatchers) 79: 42 – 46}.

The Signs of Doomsday:

We can understand from the Ahadith of the Prophet (SAW) that the first stage of the End Times is a period that seems to be religious, but one that almost completely rejects Alloh's religion and the moral values of the Qur'an. It is a period in which that has been clearly indicated in the verses of the Qur'an are overlooked, non-Islamic judgments are given by using the name of Alloh, religion falls into discord, worship is performed for show, and religion is used as a means for profit and gain. It is a characteristic of this time that faith does not depend on knowledge and study but on imitation. In this time, so-called Muslims are in the majority, while real scholars and sincere Muslims are in the minority. -02

  • Before the Last Hour there will be commotions like pieces of a dark night in which a man will be a believer in the morning and an infidel in the evening, or a believer in the evening and infidel in the morning (Abu Dawood).

  • A time will come when a man will not care about how he gets things, whether lawful or unlawful (Bukharie).

  • The Last Messenger Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said; "In the End Times men will come forth who will fraudulently use religion for worldly ends and wear sheepskins in public to display meekness. Their tongues will be sweeter than sugar, but their hearts will be the hearts of wolves" (Tirmidhi).

  • In the End Times of the community of the faithful, people, those who adorn the Masajid but leave their own hearts in ruins, who fail to look after their religion as much as they do their clothes, who forsake their religious obligations for the sake of their activities in this world, will increase in number (Agreed upon)

  • The Last Hour will not be established until there will remain those people who will neither be aware of the virtues nor ever prevent the vices (Ahmad).

  • The Hour will come when voices are raised in the Masajid (Tirmidhi).

  • The Hour will come, when people believe in the stars and reject al-Qadar: the Divine Decree of destiny (Al-Haythami, Kitab al-Fitan).

  • Undoubtedly, a period will come upon people wherein not a single person will be saved from indulging in interest. If anyone avoids direct indulgence in interest, yet he will not escape from the smoke (effects) thereof. Its effects will somehow reach him (Narrated by Abu Hurairah RTA).

Conclusion:

Oh people who claim to be Muslim, let us come together and reject falsehood surrounding us. Let us strive for trust, love and fear of Almighty Alloh. Such virtues could only be achieved when we stick to The-Qur’an literally and live with the virtues of The Last Messenger Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Let us be careful for self, family members, fellow Muslims and humanity in general, we can be only careful for others when we seek well for others out of what we seek well for self.
